6 Goal Haul Puts Senior Hurlers Through to Champo Quarter-Finals - Tue, 9 Oct 2007

St Brigids 6-14 Crumlin 1-8

Goalkeeper Alan Nolan added his third goal in two games to fire the Senior Hurlers to the Championship Quarter-Finals where they are likely to face Lucan Sarsfields this Sunday at 2.30pm in Parnell Pk. Cian O'Mahony opened his Brigids account when firing over from close range. O'Mahony soon added a second from oout on the left wing. Paddy McAvinue goaled from distance when his free went striaght into the net. Crumlin edged their way with the free-taking of Dublin Minor Whelan to trail by one point after twenty minutes but Paddy McAvinue added 3 more frees to push Brigids further ahead. An Alan Nolan penalty which nearly took the 3 Crumlin lads with it out on the Malahide Road gave the lads breathing space and soon a scrambled goal from Cian O'Mahony had Brigids leading 3-6 to 0-5 at half time.

Paddy McAvinue opened his 2nd half account with another free from long distance. Brendan McInernery was soon in his stride firing over two points while his brother & Dublin Minor Aodhan also added another point. Stephen Callinan also added two goals from close range as the lads became rampant. Subsititute Ian Sheedy also found the back of the net while Avninue added further frees.
