A convincing win for our Senior Hurlers in their Championship opener. The lads led from start to finish. Aodhan McEnerney opened the scoring with a penalty after the pacey Daire Plunkett was pulled down. Further goals from Cian O'Mahony & Brendan McEnerney settled the game as a content. McEnerney goaling just after the half time restart. It was a brilliant individual goal, turning his man down the end line before firing to the bottom corner. Tom Cleere led well from the 40' with 2 well taken points. The backs were solid and restricted St Marks to 2-3 from play. Cathal Doyle had a fine game on Dotsie O'Callaghan while Sean O'Sullivan drove the team forward from centre back. Sean kept Dublin player John Kelly fairly quiet for the entire game. Aodhan McEnerney finished the game with 1-6 in total. Ciaran Kellet had to go off injured but also chipped in with a fine point from the left wing. Daire Plunkett also scored 2 points from corner forward. The lads are now looking forward to Saturday when they face Raheny in the 2nd Group game at 6pm in St Annes Pk.
