Despite playing well below their capabilities our Senior Hurlers turned a 5 point half time deficit into a 2 point win.The game was physical at all times with Trinity Gaels applying pressure on the sliotar at all times. Trinity, playing with the gale in the opening half surged into a 0-2 to 0-0 within five minutes but the Seniors responded with the next 3 points. Ciaran Kellet contributing a superb point from the left wing. It was very much score for score until Trinity were awarded a dubious penalty which looked well outside the area. However they converted the penalty to race into a three point lead. They further extended this with 2 more points from Dean Kelly. The lads were definitely under pressure, trailing 1-7 to 0-5 at the break.

The second half started with several missed opportunites and the game looked to be going Trinity Gaels way when they led by 4 points with less than 15 minutes remaining but the introduction of several players such as Mick Cousin, Paddy Mc Avenue brought new impetus to the attack. Aodhan McEnerney adding 3 points in a row. The pressure was mounting on Trinity as Brigids attacked. Successive fouls by the Trinity Gaels left Brigids with two more pointed frees to lead by one but Trinity Gaels responded with a long distance pointed free to level up matters. Brigids were not to be denied as Conor Ryan & McEnerney pointed to leave the lads 3 out of 3 in the group but with plenty of work left to do as the knock-out phase approaches.
