Junior Hurlers Finish Year Off in Style defeating Ballyboden St Enda's in League - Tue, 13 Oct 2009

St Brigids 5-12 Ballyboden St Enda's 1-8

Timmy O'Leary's men ended their 2009 AHL 6 League campaign in style on Sunday morning when they comprehensively out-scored Ballyboden St Enda's on a score-line of 5-12 to 1-08 in Russell Park. Leading 1-07 to 0-03 following scores from Ciaran O?Reilly (0-02), Brian Condron (0-02) and Noel Kidd (1-0) the home side looked to be in control of proceedings at half time.

Playing into the Navan Road End in the second half, 'Boden responded well and by the 40th minute they had reduced the deficit to 3 points. The Brigids reply was ruthless, however, as goals from Cormac O?Meara, Johnny Dalton and Brian Mulcahy extinguished any potential 'Boden revival.

Well done to Tim and the lads who have enjoyed a fine season in AHL 6, winning 8 of their 11 league games. They finish in third spot, just outside the top two promotion places. With the size, depth (and age!) of the squad continuing to grow, there is real potential amongst this group of lads for an even better season in 2010.

St Brigids: Mossie Sweeney, Cian O Sullivan, Sean Frane, James "The Bear" Campbell, David Grogan, John "Stress" Dunning, Eoin O Brien, Willa Corbett, Johnny Dalton (1-01), Ciaran O Reilly (0-2), Brian Mulcahy (1-0), Brendan Roche (0-05), Brian Condron (0-02), Noel Kidd (2-02), Cormac O?Meara (1-0).

Subs: Stephen Moore for David Grogan Eoin Tynne for Cian O Sullivan
