Inter Hurlers Finish Off Year in Style Beating Na Fianna in Table Toppers Clash - Wed, 9 Dec 2009

Our Inter Hurlers gained a valuable league win in their quest for promotion to Adult Hurling Division 3. Na Fianna  had been vying for top spot along with Kilmacud but this victory leaves our lads in pole position as all the other sides in contention must win all their remaining games to join us at the top. Durmuid O'Mahony starred with 1-5, 2 of these points in the 2nd half when Na Fianna where staging a comeback from 7 points down at the break.

They had our lead cut to 2 points but O'Mahony's composure in front of goal was a calming influence on the team. He must be getting lesson's from his brother. Sean Duignan also had a cameo run in full forward. The 1st half laid the foundations for the victory as goals from O'Mahony, Stephen Callinan and Robbie Kelly gave the lads a 3-5 to 1-4 half time lead. Na Fianna upped the tempo in the 2nd half but couldn't keep it going. Well done to the lads. It could be a while before the league is decided with Good Counsel still having 4 games to be played.
