Inter Hurlers 2nd Half Surge is Enough to Beat Fingallians in Dramatic Style - Thu, 1 Apr 2010

St Brigids 3-4 Fingallians 1-7

A Willie Madden goal with less than 5 minutes remaining sealed a dramatic comeback for our Inter Hurlers against promotion rivals Fingallians.Fingallians were the far better side in the opening half leading 1-5 to 0-2 at the half time. Our lads were standing off and giving their oponents plenty of space.

The 2nd half was a different story as Inters started impressively with Pat Rohan pointing and Brian Mulcahy goaling after a great bat down by Stephen Callinan. Callinan continued his great work when pouncing on a high ball and finishing the sliotar to the net to turn the game on its head. Sub Wille Madden then came on and kept the best to last and he beat several defenders before finishing the ball to the net from an acute angle. Well done to the lads and keep up the great work. They were denied promotion on points difference last year.
