Junior Hurlers Get Off the Mark in League defeating Civil Service - Wed, 26 May 2010

Our Junior hurlers claimed their first AHL 5 league win of the season following a 2-10 to 0-09 victory over Civil Service Hurling at a sun soaked Russell Park on Sunday morning. The lads led from the off, with points from David Grogan, Donal O Donoghue and Noel Kidd and pushed further ahead after an excellent John Dalton goal. A Cormac O Meara point on the stroke of half-time gave Tim O Leary?s men a 1-06 to 0-02 lead at the interval.

Service responded well in the second half scoring 0-03 without reply, but the full-back line of Cian O Sullivan, Phil Daly and the 'Bear in the Square', James Campbell all stood firm. With Eoin O Brien and Stephen Moore continuing to battle hard in midfield the insurance scores soon followed as 1-02 from Brendan Roche and 0-01 from substitute Brendan Farrell sealed victory for the Russell Park men.

Well done Tim, John and the lads who face Crumlin on the 6th of June in their next league game.
