Congrats to Eoin Kennedy on another International Title. Well done & keep up the good work. Irish duo, Dublin's Eoin Kennedy and Mayo's Dessie Keegan created history when they claimed the Open double's title in Milan at the first ever Italian One-Wall National Handball Championships. 

All-Ireland senior softball champ, Kennedy teamed up with hardball linchpin, Keegan to overpower Italian's finest one wall combination of  Michele Giamcaola and Martino Parone 21-8 in Sunday evening's final showdown. The boys from the Emerald Isle had entered into new territory but the experience gained on the USA professional circuit and the Basque country in recent times proved advantageous as the Kennedy/Keegan doubles act comfortably secured the victory.

"Dessie  and I gelled well together and we both played very well in the semis. Dessie has really quick hands and was hitting some beautiful dump kill shots, while I was controlling most of the play from the left side of the court. We were delighted to win 21-10 and we knew that we could beat the Italians in the final, if we played to form," said Kennedy.

"In the final, we were down 5-4 before we settled and started to dominate the front court and used the angles well. We were obviously delighted to win the first Italian Open. All the Irish players were impressed with the standard of play of the French and Italians, considering they have only been playing 1-wall for a few years and it is quite different to their more traditional game. One-wall is really taking off in parts of Italy and hopefully, we'll get the chance to defend our title next year where I'm sure we will face an even tougher challenge then," concluded a delighted Kennedy.
