Handballers Eoin Kennedy Secures Sponsorship Deal with Vogue Bathrooms - Wed, 2 Aug 2006

(Conor Whelan CEO of Vogue Bathrooms makes presentation to Eoin Kennedy from
Of St Brigid's GAA)

This month 4 members of St Brigid's GAA will fly the flag for Ireland at the world Championships which take place this year in Edmonton, Canada from the 4th to the 20th of August. Eoin and Eugene Kennedy, Maria McCarthy and Susan Keegan will all be representing St Brigid's at this annual event and hopes are high that they can return with some silverware.

Maria, Eoin and Susan have all won Handball player of the year awards and Eugene Kennedy (Eoin's Dad) will compete in the over 55's Masters competition at the world championship in Canada.

One of the players Eoin Kennedy, a multiple all Ireland champion has just signed a sponsorship deal with local businessman Conor Whelan who is the CEO for Vogue Bathrooms. Eoin commented that "the sponsorship would enable him to continue to compete at the highest level" while Conor Whelan commented that "Vogue Bathrooms are delighted to be associated with Eoin Kennedy who has already proven himself to be a world-class athlete. As the market leader in designer bathroom products it is a natural fit for use to support someone who is also clearly at the top of his game."

Handball is an increasingly popular sport and is thriving at all levels at St Brigid's where there are two indoor handball courts. Handball is also coached during the GAA summer camps and many players from Brigid's have gone on to represent their county.
