A large crowd gathered in Russell Park for the Julie Long Memorial Weekend. Julie was loved by so many people & it was with great sadness when she passed away last year at the tender age of 25. It was great that the Long Family were present on Friday evening's exhibition night. Julie's daughters Sophie & Amy (pictured above) were treated to a terrific game of handball from several legends of the game.

Michael Duxie Walsh & Wicklow's Michael Cregan and Dublin's Egin Jenson & Eoin Kennedy served up  a great match. Kennedy & Jenson  taking the first game 21-16. The match looked destint for a third game when Cregan & Walsh led 18-11 in the 2nd but Kennedy & Jenson showed Julie's terrific battling qualities to win out 21-18.

The players were presented with T-Shirts donning Julie's picture on the back. A special thanks to the players for the great game which everyone thoroughly enjoyed especially the kids who couldn't believe how hard the lads were hitting the ball. A big thank you to everyone who helped organise the weekend. It was a fitting tribute to Julie who brought so much joy to everyone's lifes.
