Eoin Kennedy & Michael Finnegan Are Crowned World Handball Doubles Champions - Mon, 12 Oct 2009

There was joy for Eoin Kennedy over the weekend when he picked up a World title in Portland, Oregan, USA. It was great way to finish off the year for Eoin. Kennedy partnered with Michael Finnegan (Cavan) and defeated Millinlos/O'Leary (USA) 13,(15),5 and Gregan/Wilioughby (Ire) 20,16 before defeating young guns Brian Carroll and Robbie McCarthy (Ire) in the final 18,6.

Meanwhile, in the Men's Singles Open Kennedy defeated D. Lynch 3,13 before falling to Alan Garner 17,17 who went on to meet Ireland?s Paul Brady in the final. Brady took the World title 14, (18), 7 after battling through the tiebreaker with serious injury. A third consecutive title for Brady and a game which will be remembered as the one that nearly got away.
