Eoin Kennedy Reaches 60 * 30 All-Ireland Hardhall Championship Semi-Finals - Mon, 31 May 2010

Well done to Eoin Kennedy who is through the All-Ireland Hardball Semi-Finals. Eoin will face Seamus O'Carroll in the semi-finals this Saturday. Dublin star handballer, Eoin Kennedy (St. Brigid's, Blanchardstown), underlined his status as the country's top large (60X30) court player, over the weekend, when he booked his place in the semi-finals of both the Senior Singles and Senior Doubles sections of this year's GAA All-Ireland Hardball (60X30) Championships.

On Saturday, at Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare, the defending Senior Singles champion and No. 1 seed, showed his true class, when he defeated young Limerick ace, C. J. Fitzpatrick (Broadford), in a hard-fought quarter-finals clash, over two games. In the first game, Kennedy, who has dominated these championships for most of the last decade, produced his full array of lethal kill shots and silken passing shots, allied to his trademark "rocket-like" serve, overwhelming Fitzpatrick and closing out, on an emphatic scoreline of 21-4.

The second game proved to be a much tighter affair, with both players swapping point-for-point, but despite a battling display from the Limerickman, the Dubliner forged ahead, to seal victory, on a decisive scoreline of 21-14. Kennedy was in action again, yesterday (Sunday), at the same venue, when he linked-up with ace long-term doubles partner, Egin Jensen (Na Fianna, Glasnevin), to defeat ace Galway duo, Pat and Ollie Conway (both Williamstown), in another hard-fought quarter-finals clash, over two games, on a scoreline of 21-11, 21-11.
