Paddy Andrews is Star of the Show for Ireland in 2nd Aussie Rules Test - Wed, 19 Apr 2006

Dublin Minor Football Captain Paddy Andrews was the Irish hero of the second U17 International Rules Test when his late goal (six pointer) and behind (one point) ensure a dramatic late draw for Ireland. The first test was also drawn but the Aussies looked sure of victory as they led by seven points with under three minutes remaining at the AAMI Stadium in Adelaide. But Andrews struck to bring his tally for the game to 14 points (two goals and two behinds) to tie the game at 35 points each.

Well done to Paddy from all in St Brigids. He has been in fine form all year with the Minor & U21 Footballers in the club.

Scoerers - Ireland: Andrews (14), Cullivan (6), Watters (6), P. Brady (3), O'Rourke (3) McGoldrick (1), Mulhall (1), Shortall (1). Australia: Rioli (9 points), Nornington (8), Sellar (5), McIntyre (3), Gibbs (3), Hawkins (3), Masten (2), Bird (1), Bellchambers (1).
