Minor B Footballers Edge Out Holders St Maurs to Reach Champo Q-Final - Wed, 5 Sep 2007

St. Brigids 3-6 St. Maurs 1-10

A hat-trick of goals by John Dalton was enough to see St Brigids Minor B's qualify for the quarter finals of the Minor C championship after a keenly contested encounter with last years champions, St. Maurs, at Russell Park. St Brigids displayed all the rustiness of the summer break and were somewhat fortunate to be level at half time on a scoreline of 2-0 to 0-6. However a much improved performance in the second half ensured that they kept their unbeaten record in the group stages. It is encouraging when a team plays badly and still wins and the squad know that they will have to work hard and improve if they want to progress in the knock-out stages.

Scorers: John Dalton 3-2. Cormac O Meara 0-2. James Campbell, Stephen Cooper 0-1 each.

St Brigids Squad: Matthew Griffin, Joey Jordan, Philly Daly, Mark Hanley, Cian McCaffrey, Oisin Enright, James McDermott, James Campbell, Stephen Cooper, David Crehan, John Dalton, David Dempsey, Cormac O' Meara, Eoin O' Brien, Conor Brennan, Rory Dunne, Eoin Naughton, Ronan Counihan, Jack Chambers, Alan Waters, Seanie Brady, Gavin O'Brien, Sean Campbell, Philip McEntee, Andrew Dolan.
