Minor Foobtallers Advance to Leinster Semi-Final defeating Carlow Champs Eire Og - Mon, 3 Dec 2007

St Brigids 2-7 Eire Og 1-2

Well done to our Minor County Champions who progressed to the Leinster Semi-Finals on Saturday. A large sea of red & red travelled to Carlow to witness a gutsy display against the Carlow Champions Eire Og. The game was a tough affair with no quarter given by either side but it was the clinical finishing of the Brigids forwards that gave them the upper hand.

Leading 1-5 to 0-0 at the break with a superbly taken goal by Aodhan McInerney, Eire Og were never allowed to settle on the ball & the pressure when the lads didn't have the ball was immense. McInerney bagged his 2nd goal in the tenth minute of the second half to put the game beyond Eire Og who fought right to the end gaining a late goal.

The Semi-Finals are due to be played on Saturday December 22nd. This is due to the fact that the other Quarter-Finals scheduled had to be postponed. They will now take place on December 15th.
