A stunning second half display saw our Minor A Footballers through to the Championship decider against a gritty Kilmacud Crokes team. Playing up the hill and against a stiff breeze, Gavin McIntyre opened Brigids account within 3 minutes of the start but Crokes  fought with four unanswered points. Liam Higgins was the chief threat for Crokes. He kicked three of his four points from 45 yards off the ground but Brigids soon answered back with Niall O'Dea swinging over a point from the right wing. Crokes edged ahead 0-5 to 0-2 with their first & only point from play but Philip Carroll replied with a 21 yard free to leave the scores 0-5 to 0-3 at the break.

Playing with the wind was always going to be difficult but the lads played it very well. They didn't hit high ball into the forwards. They kept to their game plan and soon were level. Gavin McIntyre pointed to leave the minimun between the sides and the impressive O'Dea added another point from distance. Crokes were under severe pressure at this stage as Cian Mullins began to assert his powerful influence on the game. As Crokes passed the ball out of defence, Philip Carroll intercepted to feed Cathal Carr(above) who blasted the ball to the net.

Another point from Paul Clerkin had the lads 1-6 to 0-5 up as Crokes surged forward looking for the goal they badly needed but Cathal Doyle, Sean Murray & Alan McCarrick were outstanding as Crokes only scored once in the second half. The goal winning goal came as Philip Ryan punched the ball to the net to the delight of the management & players whose tremendous belief and team spirit was evident through out the game. Further scores from O'Dea left the result in no doubt. The lads are very much looking forward to their final against Ballyboden St Enda's or Na Fianna.
