U12 Hurlers defeat Bray in Division 1 Top of the Table Clash - Sun, 19 Nov 2006

St Brigids 3-9  Bray Emmetts 1-9

St Brigids made the long journey to Bray for this important top of the table clash. Going into the game Brigids trailed Emmetts by one point in the league standings. Brigids got off to a flying start, despite playing into a stiff breeze, with early points from Kieran O'Sullivan and Paul Winters settling the
early nerves.

However, Bray showed why they are Wicklow champions at this level by responding with a well taken goal. The Russell Park lads didn't allow this score to unsettle them though and they responded magnificently. Goals from Darragh Henry and Winters restored their lead. Both sides traded points until O'Sullivan was set up by Liam Hawkes and he raised the green flag with a brilliant finish. Bray then had a good spell themselves as the half ended and added a few points to leave the half time score: Bray 1-4 Brigids 3-4.

Brigids were put under severe pressure from the start of the second half as the home side upped the tempo and reeled off a few early points to leave four points between the sides. Man of the match Winters struck back with a brace of well taken frees, but Bray kept plugging away. Both sides
were playing some superb hurling at this stage, trading points and keeping the large crowd enthralled. With minutes left, Kieran Cahill made a key save when it looked as if Bray must score a goal, and Brigids went up the pitch to score a tremendous point from Aaron Carolan. Brigids then battled
superbly to hold their lead as time ran out on a game Bray team.
