Match Report:

Dublin Colleges 2-16 Kilkenny CBS 1-6

Dublin Colleges hurling captain David Treacy gave a virtuoso display to inspire his side to a convincing Leinster Colleges SHC "A" final victory at Dr Cullen Park on Saturday afternoon. The Cuala lad scored ten points, including five frees, as well as bringing the best of his forward colleagues in a match the Dublin side also dominated against last year?s beaten All-Ireland finalists.

Playing with wind advantage in the opening half the Dubs made the most of it and led 0-11 to 0-2 at the break with Niall McMurrow in good form. Ten minutes into the second half Kilkenny CBS right full-forward Martin Bambrick beat Finn McGarry in the Dublin Colleges goal but their comeback was relatively short-lived as nine minutes later Treacy sent substitute Conor Gough through on goal and he kicked the sliotar to the net to move 2-14 to 1-4 clear.

Kilkenny CBS were reduced to 14 men when left full-forward Brian Kennedy was issued with a second yellow card.
