Anne Kirwan Captain's Dublin Minor Team to Leinster Semi-Final Win - Sat, 25 Nov 2006

Congrats to Anne Kirwan who is Captain of the Dublin Minor Camogie Team. The Dubs recently beat Offaly to book a place in the Leinster Final.

The Dublin Minor team overcame Offaly today in Naomh Mearnog's grounds in cold, windy conditions to secure a place in the Leinster Final on Sunday next. Final Score Dublin 7-11 Offaly 2-3. This was a good team effort. Dublin laid the foundations of this emphatic win early in the first half. The backs and midfield were on top giving the forwards a good suply of ball. The inside forward line of Kirsten Farrell, Sarah Ryan and Amy Murphy were in devastating form.

They took their chances early on to put this game out of Offaly's reach and by half time Dublin were ahead 6-6 to 1-0. Offaly started the second half well and had some good periods during this half. They never gave up and battled right to the final whistle scoring 1-3 in the second half. An enjoyable, sporting game despite the weather conditions.

Scorers for Dublin: Sarah Ryan 4-3,Kirsten Farrell 2-3,Amy Ryan 0-4, Joeleene Hoary 1-0 Clodagh Clooney 0-1.
