U16 Camogie Girls Capture League Title In Thrilling Game vs Kilmacud - Tue, 30 Sep 2008

The Under 16 Camogie team clinched the Division 2 league title on Saturday in the Phoenix Park with a trilling victory over Kilmacud Crokes in the league final. It was the sides' third meeting of the season with Brigids winning earlier this year in Russell Park and Crokes winning the return match by 3 points two weeks ago.

Despite it being a low scoring game both teams contributed to a highly entertaining game with their, speed, skill and determination. A spectatcular goal by Emma Keyes five minutes into the second half was the turning point of the match and Brigids held out for a 1:2 to 0:2 victory. It was a brilliant performance and all 17 girls played their part in the victory. A special thanks to the six under 14 girls, Siobhan Cahill, Emma Skehan, Deirdre Murphy, Sarah Hawkshaw, Ruth Dargan and Helen Sweeney who came out for their second match of the day having earlier helped the under 14s to a championship quarter final victory over Lucan.
