Under 12 Girls Camogie Season Report for 2008 - Fri, 19 Dec 2008

The U12 team had a very good year and won the Division 2 (Group 1) League. The results of the matches we played are at the end of the report. We got two walkovers and shared points in two matches that were unplayable. We had a brilliant squad of girls who turned out in good and bad weather to train. Their enthusiasm and sense of fun made it very easy for the mentors. Whenever we were short players, we asked a couple of the girls from the U11?s and U10?s to help out.

Our thanks to them for assisting us. The championship was not so good for the U12?s. We lost the first match against a division one team and were knocked out as a result. The mentors would like to highlight Ciara Hayes on getting nominated as player of year for St. Brigids. Well done also to Jenni O?Brien, Ciara Hayes, Sophie Lyons and Niamh McKenna on their involvement with the U12, Dublin development squad.

They really enjoyed the opportunity to mix with the players from the other Dublin clubs. The team would like to say thanks to Eleanor, Tom, George and Emma for the time they spent training the team and organising the matches. A special word of thanks goes to Catherine Kyne for looking after the first aid kit and for all the work in sending out texts to everyone. Our condolences are extended to Catherine on the tragic death of her Father and wish her mother a speedy recovery from her injuries.
