Under 14 Girls Camogie Season Report for 2008 - Fri, 19 Dec 2008
What a year of success and hard work for Naomh Brid U14 camogie players. The year commenced with convincing wins in all league matches with the exception of one drawn game against Thomas Davis. This drawn game meant that the final league match of the season was to be a league decider ? Naomh Brid showed huge courage and determination to win the match away to Thomas Davis and crown themselves league winners The girls participated in a wonderful Feile weekend. May 11th will be etched in the minds of our star U14 Camogie Feile winners for ever. On the Saturday the girls played five very competitive matches against Crumlin, Lucan, Raheny, Ballinteer St Johns and the semi final against Na Fianna. The final on Sunday was a momentous occasion with a rematch of their only lost game from the previous day against Lucan. The final score of 3-1 to 3-0 does not understate how close a match it was but Naomh Brid were gallant winners on the day. Heading into the Championship the pressure was on and the girls won some hugely tough matches against Thomas Davis in the quarter final and Lucan in the semi final but the Gods were not with them to make it three in a row and on Championship final day they lost out to Raheny. We would like to acknowledge one of our players who showed vast skills and great tenacity in every single game during the year and who, without a doubt, is our player of the year - Sarah Hawkshaw The years success was a huge credit to all players for their dedication and strength of character and to their coaches for their time, effort and encouragement. |
