U14 Camogie Season Report for 2007 - A Great Year Capped by Champo Win - Wed, 19 Dec 2007

"The Under 14 camogie team had a long and successful season playing Division 2 of the League, Feile and Championship.  We had a panel of 22 which was on occasion supplemented by some of the Under 12 players.

Early in the season the team took part in the Feile competition winning all their group matches and semi-final.  They played Lucan in the Final and despite a gallant performance were beaten by a stronger team on the day. In the league the team played a total of 18 matches and won 16 of them.  The only 2 losses were against Lucan.

However, as it turned out Lucan were also beaten twice therefore we ended up joint top of the league. The team had an excellent championship season defeating first division side Raheny in the first round and Thomas Davis in the semi-final.  This brought up a final again against Lucan.

However, this time the team was not going to be beaten and ended up with a sweet 5 point victory. Next up for the girls is a league final play-off on November 10, yes Lucan again. It was a great season for all the girls.

Ellen Hayden, Áine Ó Murchú and Laura Skehan were on the Under 14 Dublin squad that was narrowly defeated by Kilkenny in the Leinster final.  Also, Siobhan Cahill was selected on the squad for next year?s under championship.
