U10 Caomgie Season Report 2007 - Going From Strength to Strength - Wed, 19 Dec 2007

The Under 10 Camogie squad has gone from strength to strength.  This is only our second year and our numbers continue to grow to where we have now over 70 girls involved with our under 10 squad.   We have had a very successful year and the few matches lost were by the tightest of margins while we enjoyed several strong wins.

The expansion of the squad compared to last year sees us say goodbye to more that 15 girls for 2008 and we wish them well in their exploits Under 11 and beyond.  Such a large squad going forward to Under 11 should greatly facilitate a full Under 11 team for 2008.  We will of course be delighted to help out the Under 11's with some of our Under 10's.

The 1997 girls have already statred their preparations for 2008 with a very hard fought 1-1 draw against Plunketts.  Exhortations to end the game at 7.00pm when Nh Brid were leading 1-0 fell on deaf ears.   We also ran teams in two Under 9 blitzes which were a resounding success and greatly enjoyed by the girls.

The 1997 girls will be delighted that they will have the continuity of Ken as one of their coaches for 2008.  Kevin and Margaret (the young coaches) will remain with the Under 10 squad for 2008.   We would take this opportunity to thank those have have helped us with the coaching through the year including many parents and especially Joanne Bruen.

We again extend a plea for more help.  We have the single biggest Camogie squad in Nh Brid and is run with just three coaches.  Eddie O'Sullivan couldn't do the business with his massive back-up team and he only had 30 players.

We have now moved to the artificial pitch and you will find us there every Tuesday night from 6.15pm to 7.00pm. Our Under 10 Player of the Year for 2007 is Anna Greville.  This was a very tight decsion and many of the girls came very close.
