U16 Camogie Girls Retain League Title defeating Kilmacud Crokes in Decider - Tue, 3 Nov 2009

The under 16 camogie team retained the Division 2 League title with a hard fought victory over their closest rivals Kilmacud Crokes in Russell Park two weeks. Having already beaten Crokes in the league the girls knew that victory in the home fixture would guarantee them the league title. Brigids started the match very well and led by 2:4 to 0:0 at half time.

They were greatly helped by good defense and two brilliant saves by Emma Skehan. However, in the second half Crokes came back and narrowed the gap to 2 points. The girls didn't panic and helped by goals from Ellen Hayden and Emma Keyes finished strongly to win by a scoreline of 6:8 to 4:2. Lead by captain Ellen Hayden the team maintained their 100% record in the league by defeating Naomh Mearnog in Russell Park on Saturday.
