Brigid's duo capture Ladies Leinster Minor Title - Mon, 16 May 2005

Last Saturday saw the Dublin Minor ladies team take the Leinster Football title for the first time since 1990. Amongst them were two of the brightest young belles from St Brigid's Aimee Molloy and Colleen Barrett. They've been part of the panel since last year and both played in the Leinster quarter and Semi finals beating Offaly and Meath respectively in recent weeks. Aimee was on the Leinster winning U16 Dublin team last year while Colleen has a Leinster Dublin U14 medal to her name already.

Both girls are very excited about the prospect of playing in the semi final which will take place on the 9th July where they will take on a team from Connaucht (yet to be decided). They both play with the St Brigid's Minor team under the guidance of mentor Derek Molloy and up to recently the retired Jerry Lally. This is definitely a team to look out for in the future. They hope to take the Dublin Minor Championship by storm this year having lost out in a very close final to Kilmacud Crokes last year. Although they were league Champions in 2004, the girls are out for Championship Glory this year with both Club and County. The very best of luck to Aimee and Colleen and the Dublin Minor Squad.

Details of Venue and time of match will follow shortly. All support welcome!
