Ladies Minor Footballers defeat Ballyboden St Enda's in Cracking League Game - Tue, 21 Apr 2009

The Ladies Minor Footballers kept up the momentum in their League campaign. The main pitch at Ballyboden was the setting for a nail-biting meeting of Ballyboden and St Brigid's in the Ladies Minor Football league. These teams have played exciting football with close finishes in their recent encounters. Ballyboden notched up three points without reply before the Brigid's girls found their range, but a well-placed goal by Michelle O'Reilly and three points from play saw Brigid's three points up at half-time.

In the second half it was nip and tuck, both sides had near missses. Aisling King scored two points from frees and Brigids conceded several points from frees. Ballyboden slipped past the Brigid's defence to score their goal and their tally crept up to lie two points ahead with only a minute to go. A well-worked goal, scored by Sarah Fay saved the day for St Brigid's who finished just a point ahead, Ballyboden 1-11 to st brigid's 2-9. The full squad played their part in this remarkable game, and can feel proud of their performance.
