Ladies Footballers Reach All-Ireland Final With Powerful Semi-Final Showing - Mon, 9 Nov 2009

An brilliant first half display from our Ladies Senior Footballers paved the way for an impressive All-Ireland Semi-Final triumph. A large crowd travelled to Mayo to cheer the girls on. They started very well leading 1-4 to 0-1 inside 15 minutes with Aine Burke scoring the goal. Katie Murphy (below scoring) added another goal with a nice left foot finish to the corner. The girls began to run riot and player of the match Noelle Healy soon had another goal. Healy scored 2-5 in total. Leading 3-9 to 0-1 at the break, the girls left the field for the half time eager to get back out for the 2nd half and start off where they had finished.

The 2nd half was a tighter affair with Breaffy showing great will to get back into the game but their shooting let them down. Elaine Kelly turned on the style bagging 2 goals (finished with 2-4) in a game full of pace. Well done to all and best of luck in the final on Sunday Nov 15th vs Brian Boru of Tipperary.
