U14 Ladies Feile Footballers Top Group in Style to Reach Semi-Finals - Sat, 17 Apr 2010

Congrats to the U14 Ladies Footballers who reached the Feile Semi-Finals by topping their group in Blakestown. The girls were slow to get going in both matches but really motored in the 2nd half of both games. It was a tough mornings work for the girls as they had to play their 2nd match straight after the first game.

The first game vs the hosts started off very nervy but the girls led 1-2 to 0-1 at half time after playing up the hill and into the breeze.The 2nd half was a different affair as the girls showed great determination to win 3-5 to 0-1. The 2nd game was the real crunch game as Sygne St were fresh and a contender for the Feile. The girls started off great with a goal inside the opening minutes but Sygne St responded to 2-1 to 1-0. The girls narrowed the deficit to 3 points with a great point.

They now had the hill and breeze at their backs in the 2nd half and dominated the game to win by 9 points((5-5 to 2-2). A great turn around and great credit to the management for having the team so fit. We are looking forward to travelling to Kilmacud Crokes who host the finals. The semi-final is at 12.30 vs Kilmacud Crokes in Glenalbyn.
