A recent hurling blitz organised between St Brigids and Ratoath at Russell Park saw no less than ten young teams competing.Brigids Louise Foley tussling for possession at the recent blitz For many of the children involved it was their first time ever playing a competitive hurling game. The purpose of the blitz was to provide young boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 7 with the chance to play three short games of hurling at the Dublin 15 venue.

Five pitches were laid out for the games and the sidelines were packed with very proud parents, many of whom took the opportunity to video the moment for posterity. The St Brigid's club extends its thanks to everyone who took part, and who assisted in both the organisation of the event and in helping out on the day. The club provides hurling training every Saturday morning from 10-11 a.m. in Russell Park for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 7.
