Senior Ladies Football Cup

St. Brigids 2-06 Foxrock Cabinteely 1-11 

St. Brigids Senior ladies will be coming up against Foxrock /Cab in championship in a few weeks and both teams knew that this match was a great way to lay down the marker. Fox/ cab started well with two early points but Brigids worked the ball well which resulted in two points by Aisling King. Elaine Kelly then received a free which she converted with ease. Fox/ cab got a goal shortly before half time which meant they lead 1-04 to 3 points at half time. 

Brigids returned to the field and never stopped fighting. Lyndsey Andrews came off the bench and put in solid performance in full back. The six backs made it tough for the fox/ cab girls to get much space and worked well as a unit . Young Niamh O Neill slotted in excellently at wing half back and showed her wort . As full time was drawing near Brigids hit the back of the net twice with goals from Orla Brennan and Aisling King. Dublin Minor Leah Mullins stepped up to senior football with ease showing her talent and strength. Emma Sweeney also fought tirelessly throughout the game.When the final whistle blew St. Brigids ladies were 2 points down on a score line of 1-11 to 2-06. The girls will look forward to meeting Fox/Cab in championship in May.
