U16 Hurling Championship Report 2015-09-06 17:13:00

Our U16 hurlers narrowly lost out to Ballinteer in Marley Park on Saturday afternoon in the U16 hurling championship quarter final. They beat Ballyboden 2 weeks ago 14 points to 10 to qualify for todays encounter. Brigids defended solidly in the first half with Jed Higgins and David Hawkshaw outstanding. Going in at half time Ballinteer were up 7 points to 4. In the second half the host side stretched out the lead to 9 and looked as if they were coasting. The Brigids lads however never lay down and put the Ballinteer defence under serious pressure which yielded 2 goals to bring the Brigids lads to within 3 points.
It was however too little too late as the Ballinteer lads held on to their lead - 0:14 to 2:5 and that's how it ended.

These Brigids lads have done their club, families and themselves proud.  They have put in some unbelievable performances this year against top opposition.

A big thanks to all of the parents/relations and friends who have supported the lads throughout the year.
