Handball is very much alive and well in St Brigid's G.A.A. Club, and has been since the 1980s. Eoin Kennedy, 7 times All Ireland Champion is a proud product of the St Brigids handball youth system and he remains today one of Ireland's finests every handballers. The Clubhouse has two indoor handball alleys. One with a viewing gallery, with seating capacity for 50 people, while both alleys have recently been refurblished in July 2012 and are once again in top notch condition!
Two members of the Club have the distinction of achieving World Champion status, Julie Long (RIP) and Eoin Kennedy. Maria McCarthy also won the Womens Junior All-Ireland Title in February 2003. The World Championships were held in City West in October, 2012. Over 2,000 players from 30 different countries particpated. St Brigids members competed at both juvenile and adult levels, while our U14 Handballers also reached the 2012 Feile Finals also in City West.
