Step 2 Gaelic Games Vetting Invitation Form

Garda Vetting (GV) through the GAA is a statutory requirement under the National Vetting Bureau (NVB) Children and vulnerable persons Act 2012-2016 for the mandatory vetting of persons who wish to undertake certain activities relating to children or vulnerable persons. In St Brigids GAA club any person who carries out a role of responsibility such as coaching, managing or training underage teams (players under 18 years of age) must be vetted. It also applies to organising underage activities or refereeing underage games. As St Brigids GAA operates a ‘one-club’ model one vetting application will suffice to cover all codes in the club. Garda vetting is non – transferable to other organisations and Garda vetting from other organisations is not accepted by the GAA.

St Brigid’s Club Children’s officer oversees the implementation of Garda vetting checks, safeguarding as appropriate within the club.
