Amsterdam Crowned Leinster Junior Hurling Champions — With a St Brigid’s Connection at Midfield

November 24, 2025 398 Views

What a brilliant story for hurling — and for St Brigid’s!
Amsterdam have been crowned Leinster Junior Hurling Champions, a remarkable achievement that made the airwaves this morning on Morning Ireland. And right at the heart of it was one of our own.

Brian O’Malley, proudly representing St Brigid’s roots, lined out at midfield and delivered a superb performance throughout the campaign. Hurling in Pearse Park, Longford, conditions were ideal — a fine pitch, almost no wind, and a perfect day for hurling. The stage was set, and Amsterdam delivered.

There’s a strong Brigid’s thread woven through this win too: Brian’s dad, Tommie O’Malley, continues to give huge service to our club, coaching our U15 hurlers and helping develop the next generation. No doubt he’s bursting with pride today.

A huge congratulations to Amsterdam on their historic victory — and a special shout-out to Brian for flying the Brigid’s flag on the provincial stage.
