On the 19th of September, over 200 young people from 17 Leinster GAA clubs attended the Dermot Earley Youth Leadership Initiative (DEYLI) Recognition event in Croke Park.

Young people from St. Brigid's GAA club were awarded certificates for their work and commitment in completing Foróige Modules 1 & 2 of the initiative. They were also joined on stage by their facilitators for the presentation of certificates in recognition of their dedication to running the initiative in their GAA clubs.

This years special guest of honour was DEYLI Alumni Captain Niamh Fitzgerald, aide-de-camp to President Catherine Connolly. She described the initiative as "powerful", remarking how "Leadership is always evolving through different courses, but everything draws back to the skills you learn through the Dermot Earley Youth Leadership Initiative".

Also on stage was facilitator Marian McHugh of The Neale GAA club in Co. Mayo. She described how the initiative has grown in her club over the years, and the pride she feels watching young people grow throughout the initiative.

She also noted how one of the first young people to complete the initiative in her club was Tommy Conroy, who is a member of the All Ireland winning Mayo county team from this year.

The club is currently interested in recruiting over 18 year olds club members to help facilitate the program in our club.
