As you are aware we are moving to Foireann for all membership payments this year.
Moving to Foireann for our membership payments is a positive step for our club, resulting in cost savings and a more robust payment and registration process that is less labour intensive. Doing this positions us well for the future as the GAA continues to expand the use of Foireann and moves towards integration with the One Club model.

Francis (Francie) Plunkett passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on St. Brigid’s Day, Thursday, 1st February 2024.
Predeceased by his parents, Harry & Mary Plunkett and grandaughter Isla Fae Plunkett. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Shelia, children Gerard (Emer), Henry (Jasmine) and Frances (Damian), siblings Sr. Maria, Liam and Patricia, grandchildren Luella and Tadhg, Donnaacha, Maia, Faolánn, Isla (RIP) and Rhea, Oscar and Sonny, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.
May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Reilly’s Funeral Home, Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Sunday evening February 4th from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday the 5th at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Church, Carrick, Finea (N91 TH22), followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

St. Brigid’s GAA Club takes immense pride and joy in announcing that Mary O’Connor, our former secretary and current assistant secretary, has been chosen to receive a President’s Award from Larry McCarthy, President of the GAA, in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the Ladies Gaelic Football Association over the years. These prestigious awards, organized and presented annually, honor individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to the organization.
Mary exemplifies the best qualities of the GAA, showcasing relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering commitment that has left a lasting impact on the growth of ladies football in Dublin. We are thrilled to see her significant contributions acknowledged in this manner. Within St. Brigid’s, we deeply appreciate Mary’s dedication to the GAA, which extends to the phenomenal impact she has made on our own club. As our secretary, she served as the linchpin, coordinating meetings, managing pitch allocations, driving innovation, and inspiring volunteers and members alike. Her work was carried out with exceptional efficiency, courtesy, and a lack of fuss. Mary’s infectious enthusiasm and enduring commitment have not only left a lasting mark on our club but have also enriched the lives of our members and players.

Beloved wife of the late James Reilly and pre-deceased by her son Kieran O’Reilly and her daughter Kathleen. Much loved mother of Margaret, Mary, Winnie, Patrick and James. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Clonsilla on Thursday evening (February 1st) from 2 pm with removal to the Church of St. Oliver Plunkett, Rivermount, Finglas arriving at 5pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning in the Church of St. Oliver Plunkett, Rivermount at 11am followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk (arriving at 1.30pm approx).

This is an opportunity for members to give their views and feedback which will greatly assist and help shape the future development of the club over the next few years. We encourage all members to complete this online survey by 31 January 2024.
On 20 February 2024 there will be a town hall meeting where everyone is welcome to hear the findings of this survey and discuss plans around the set up of new committees.

On Thursday evening next, 1st February, the club will host a special mass for the Feast of St. Brigid at 7pm
All members and the wider community are invited to attend. Refreshments will be available after the ceremony.

Micheál Gargan, Castleknock Park, Dublin and formerly of Moynalty, Co. Meath. Passed away peacefully on the 24th of January 2024, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the staff at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. Micheál, beloved husband of Kay, devoted father of Shane, Sinéad, Colm (RIP) and Ciarán, cherished grandfather of Ross, Cillian, Art, Moore, Diarmuid and Ailbhe. Deeply missed and remembered by his loving family, son-in-law Fergal, daughters-in-law Noreen and Michelle, sole surviving sister Anne, sisters-in-law Ann and Jane, brother-in-law Tony, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, his four brothers and four sisters.
